From left to right, our new SALTO PI colleagues: Joana Freitas, Katrin Kaaver, Raili Ots

SALTO Participation & Information Resource Centre has experienced significant growth since its establishment in 2018, and this year is no exception, as we welcome three new colleagues between March and May. Our team has expanded from five members (four coordinators and one specialist) to seven (five coordinators and two specialists) as we broaden our activities to include the fields of Education & Training. This growth reflects our commitment to developing our initiatives in new areas.

Introducing our new team members:

Joana Freitas is a curious and creative person who is passionate about diversity and social innovation, and an active advocate for inclusion and mental health.

Proudly born and raised in a small town in Portugal, her eagerness to explore and learn led her to find a personal and professional interest in international mobility and cooperation projects, a field she’s been enthusiastically involved in for over 8 years.

Thanks to the combination of work experiences in Youth, VET and Higher Education, and academic work on mobility as a tool to address inequalities, she is a firm believer that interdisciplinarity and collaboration among formal and non-formal is the way towards a more significative – and inclusive impact of Erasmus+. Thus, she is thrilled to coordinate SALTO PI’s expansion to Education and Training and looking forward to crossing and building bridges to foster quality participation for all.

Katrin Kaaver is part of the SALTO PI as a specialist helping out with any kind of administrative problem-solving. She has a bachelor’s degree in information society and social wellbeing (former sociology, social work and social policy) and a minor in psychology from the University of Tartu. Professionally, her experiences comprise work in different social work organisations with a variety of target groups, including youth and NEETs, and coordination of trainings for youngsters and professionals. In addition to her previous Erasmus+ student exchange and European Solidarity Corps project experience, these two fields are precisely what brought her to SALTO PI.

Raili Ots is supporting our team on administrative and communication tasks as a specialist. She also helps us with procurements and events management. She has a degree in cultural management and has specialised in music business. Therefore she has worked mainly in music industry for 5 years as merchandise and tour manager at the Estonian Funk Embassy. In addition, she has a long term experience in social media, managing different band’s and company’s social media pages.
