Accessibility Statement for Participation Resource Pool

SALTO Participation & Information Resource Centre (SALTO PI) is committed to ensuring digital  accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant  accessibility standards.

Accessibility of resources

Through the Participation Resource Pool published resources are marked as being Accessible or Partially accessible, supporting users to easily identify the degree of accessibility of each resource.

Accessible resources indicate they are fully accessible for users with disabilities and are assessed through a number of criteria such as: images have an alt-attribute that provides a text alternative, ensuring that all information can be understood without seeing the images; videos are captioned for people with visual impairments and a text transcript is available; link texts can be visually distinguished from the text that is not a link; pdf documents are readable and not just image scans of original documents etc.
Partially accessible resources indicate that at least one or more of the accessibility criteria is not fully met.

Conformance status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve  accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. Participation Resource Pool is fully conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. Fully conformant means that the content fully conforms to the  accessibility standard without any exceptions.
