School Student Guide to the Universe of Democratic Participation

The guide was published in the run-up of the 2019 the elections for the European Parliament. Starting from the premise that the European elections are still not accessible to all young people either due to their age or their citizenship status, this guide provides some opportunities and gives some practical ideas to young people.

It can be used to familiarise oneself more with the EU, election process or just a general democratic processeses. These activities can be adapted and adjusted to feet the needs of the group or to fit to a specific process (eg. local elections).

Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU)

The Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU) is the platform for cooperation between the national school student unions active in general secondary and secondary vocational education in Europe. It was founded in April 1975 in Dublin, Ireland and brings together Member, Candidate and Affiliate Organisations from all over Europe. All Member Organisations are independent, national, representative and democratic school student organisations.
