0:04 why are passwords 0:06 so important or why is it important that 0:08 we have better ones 0:09 than the ones that we do have because 0:11 the ones that we do have are 0:12 embarrassingly bad 0:14 bad passwords are one of the easiest 0:17 ways to compromise a system 0:19 for somebody who has a very common eight 0:22 character password uh 0:23 it can literally take less than a second 0:26 for a computer to go through the 0:27 possibilities and pull that password out 0:29 for an eight character password 0:30 right right right my password is five 0:33 characters 0:35 that's not a joke that's bad right 0:37 that's really bad 0:38 okay so which of these seem like good 0:40 options 0:42 password but spelt w-e-r-d 0:46 this is a joke right uh-huh 0:49 no uh yes that would be within uh normal 0:53 password dictionaries permutations of 0:56 common words but it's misspelt though 0:58 so that was the kind of tripwire on it 1:00 right it's still 1:01 eight characters even if it's not uh 1:03 within your password dictionary which 1:05 would mean 1:05 okay okay okay it was about it's about 1:07 it's bad ones it's a bad one 1:08 that's why i got some more um one two 1:11 three 1:12 four but spelt out 1:15 that's not gonna help you okay um limp 1:18 bizkit forever 1:19 with limp bizkit spelled properly but 1:21 forever not 1:23 that's also not gonna help you okay 1:26 really i think the best 1:30 the best advice here is to shift your 1:32 thinking from past 1:34 words to past phrases 1:37 think about a common phrase that works 1:39 for you 1:40 that's too long to brute force and also 1:43 make them unlikely to be in the 1:44 dictionary 1:45 admiral alonso ghost penis 420 yolo 1:49 that's pretty good right it's memorable 1:52 too 1:53 right it's memorable it's got all the 1:55 other things you like like characters 1:56 and numbers 1:57 yolo capital letters obviously i 1:59 shouldn't say now i can't use it 2:01 it can actually be a lot harder to 2:04 remember a password that they 2:05 tell you has to be 13 characters long or 2:07 something like that it has to have 2:09 exclamation points it has to have 2:11 numbers it has to have uppercase and 2:12 lowercase 2:13 letters and things like that than it is 2:15 to remember 2:16 a simple phrase like margaret thatcher 2:19 is 110 2:20 sexy wow that is a password that not 2:24 even a computer would guess 2:26 now you're right okay i get it i get how 2:29 important it is 2:30 i i fully understand that the problem is 2:34 i'm not gonna do it because 2:39 it seems hard even though i know it 2:41 isn't 2:44 you're killing me sorry 2:57 you
