Youth participation starts here: new Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps programmes, 26 May 2021

24 May 2021

The European Youth Week 2021 is here again putting youth participation in the spotlight!

With restricted social gatherings and limited mobility the last year has been challenging, however, more than ever, young people need to talk democracy, protect democracy and participate in democracy on the matters that speak to them.

This spring the European Commission has launched new programmes for 2021-2027: Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps. At this session, together with the EU Commissioner for Youth and Education Ms Mariya Gabriel, Member of the European Parliament & rapporteur for European Solidarity Corps Ms Michaela Šojdrová, Vice-President of the European Youth Forum Mr. Frédéric Piccavet and Mr. Hugo Rafael, a former European Solidarity Corps volunteer from Portugal, will discuss how new programmes will strengthening young citizens’ engagement in decision-making, embrace inclusion and diversity, encourage organisations and individuals to step up green practices, drive  digital transformation and contribute to post Covid recovery and building resilience.

Post your questions to the panellists on social media in advance and tune in LIVE on 26 May at 1:30pm CEST.
