Open call: Rapporteur international event on cross-sectoral cooperation to enhance youth participation in democratic life

The National Agency for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps in Estonia (herein called the Estonian NA) as the Leader of the Strategic National Agencies Cooperation project “New Power in Youth” (NPiY SNAC), is looking for a rapporteur to be involved in an international activity, as detailed below.

Main objective: The rapporteur is expected to plan the concept of a report, document the outcomes and prepare a final report of an international event on the topic “cross-sectoral cooperation to enhance youth participation in democratic life” as part of the New Power in Youth SNAC, Work Package 3, planned to take place in Riga, Latvia, between 28 November – 1 December 2023.

Context:

New Power in Youth SNAC is a strategic partnership between 10 National Agencies for Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps and 3 SALTO Resource Centers with the aim to foster youth participation in democratic life. The international event is part of Work Package 3 focused on supporting cross-sectoral cooperation by creating the space for:

  • Partnership and capacity-building activities, between professionals working in non-formal and formal education sectors, to support youth participation in democratic life, at national and transnational levels;
  • Mapping, developing and piloting concepts and approaches of youth participation in democratic life, in cross-sectoral partnerships.

The event aims to bring together 40-50 professionals in both formal and non-formal sectors, representatives of National Agencies for Erasmus+ & European Solidarity Corps, and experts in the field of youth participation and civic engagement.

Expectations from the rapporteur:

  • Develop a concept for the report of the activity based on the programme of activities  developed by the facilitators and organisers, in English
  • Be actively involved in the programme of activities and do the collection and analysis of its outcomes
  • Preparing the content for the report of the activity after the event (editable document)
  • Submitting a first draft of the report by 7 December; include feedback and send the final version of the report by 15 December 2023
  • Participate in the online preparatory meetings of the activity (approx. 2 meetings) – the exact dates will be set together with the team upon selection
  • Participate in the residential activity and the preparatory/evaluation meetings before and after the event, 27 November – 1 December 2023 (27 Nov. preparation day; 28 Nov. half event day;  29-30 Nov. full event days; 1 Dec. evaluation day)

Profile of the rapporteur

The selected rapporteur should have:

  • Knowledge and experience in working on the topics of youth participation, European citizenship and civic education, in particular regarding the current developments at the European level (policies and practices in the fields of education and youth)
  • Experience and competence in compiling analytical reports of seminars, meetings and other such activities, which require active collection and processing of information, also during the activity
  • Awareness of the Erasmus+ & Programme and its objectives
  • Excellent ability to communicate and write in English.

Work conditions:

The service will be provided from September 2023 to December 2023. A contract will be signed if the service is provided by a private person. A juridical person is expected to be able to submit invoices.

The expected workload is 9 working days in total, with a rate of 330 EUR per day. Lodging is covered by the NPiY SNAC partnership. Travel costs will be reimbursed.

The work will be done online and residentially during the international event in Riga, Latvia. The working language is English.

The fee for the entire service and contract is 2970 EUR. If applicable, the Estonian NA will cover VAT or relevant income taxes additionally.
