Alina Besleaga, new SALTO PI Coordinator

SALTO Participation & Information is glad to welcome Alina Besleaga as our new colleague! Alina joined the team in Tallinn at the end of June as a SALTO PI Coordinator to work on projects and activities related to Democratic Participation, focusing on the youth sector and adult education. Welcome, Alina!

Alina (she/her) has centred her professional experience on youth engagement, democratic participation, and international cooperation. Originally from Moldova, she has worked in both the public and third sectors, taking on roles such as youth worker, non-formal education facilitator, youth trainer, and project manager. Her work focuses on fostering a culture of democratic participation within the educational system, particularly by supporting student councils and their role in decision-making processes. She also promotes alternative forms of participation, including community engagement, volunteering, youth-led initiatives, and civil society organisations.

Alina recently graduated from the Erasmus Mundus Master in Adult Education for Social Change, where she explored qualitative, participatory, and arts-based research methods. She is a power-literate and trauma-informed educator with a strong belief in co-creation and a whole-person approach, and she is passionate about the architecture and methodology of non-formal education.

She is excited to bring her expertise to the SALTO Participation & Information Resource Centre as a Coordinator of Projects and Activities related to Democratic Participation, focusing on the youth sector and adult education.
